The Brief

This was a group university branding project where we created a extension of an existing established brand. Our extension was a smart watch for the brand 'Vans'; targeted towards action sport enthusiasts and casual Vans customers. It has features making it suitable to the audience as well as carrying over a USP of fully customisable straps similar to their custom shoes.


In our four man group my role was Accounts Executive so I had to ensure the brand kept in touch with the original Vans brand.

The Continuation

I devised an advertising campaign based on the tagline 'Don't just watch', that is all about encouraging viewers to go out and be active. Shown through surfing, skating and BMX-ing with first person perspectives to place the viewer in the scene.

 

The campaign has three main areas of immersive displays placed in a literal underground setting echoing the underground skater culture; a social media campaign focusing on encouraging people to get involved through inspiring community stories and cues; and an event boasting youth culture and give them a physical place to not 'just watch'.
